The Rasmussen poll on Friday, June 5, found that President Donald Trump’s job approval rating among African American voters peaked at all-time high of 41% in the wake of the rioting related to the death of George Floyd.

According to the new poll, President Trump has an overall approval rating of 48% given the pandemic crisis and ongoing widespread protests sparked by the death of Floyd, a black man who died in Minneapolis police custody on May 25.

Of 41% likely black voters who support the president, 25% said they “strongly support” what he is doing. The poll even showed that 15% of Democrats “strongly approve” the president’s job.

Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) earlier this week commended President Trump’s work for the black community, saying, “The last three years of progress have been unprecedented in my lifetime.”

“The fact that we have secured permanent funding for HBCUs [historically black colleges and universities] under President Trump is something that was surprising, I think frankly, to the HBCUs [and] the United Negro College Fund,” he said. “The president said clearly that the level of funding the last year was the highest ever. Think about the jobs created. Under this administration, we created over seven million jobs, two-thirds of those jobs went to minorities and to women.”

“We had an increase the labor force participation rate among African Americans,” Scott added. “Home ownership, I believe, was up by two points under this administration. Access to a quality education improved, help for sickle cell anemia secured under this president, so when you look at the actual accomplishments—put aside all of the vitriol, all of the rhetoric, all of the things that some may find distasteful—the actual policy positions have been incredibly concrete.”

“And I would say this has been the best policy position of a president in my lifetime, and that’s what I know from just personal experience and having watched this for the last 30 years of my life,” he said.

It’s worth noting that this poll was conducted before Friday’s stunning jobs report from the Labor Department showing that the national unemployment rate unexpectedly declined in May with 2.5 million jobs created.

Oh no, the Dems are worried again. The only one that can kill this comeback is Sleepy Joe Biden!

Rep. Vernon Jones (D-Ga.), who made waves after endorsing President Trump’s re-election, reacted to the poll, suggesting that the surge of black voters supporting President Trump is the reason behind “a race war.”

“Why is the Left trying to start a race war? Maybe this is why…” Jones tweeted.

Jones has strongly opposed the idea that Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, who recently said that those having a hard time “figuring out” whether to support him or President Trump “ain’t black,” become the next president of the United State.

“Liberal Democrats like Joe Biden have been standing on the shoulders of Black voters over 50 years with their knees on their necks,” Jones wrote in a tweet on Friday. “Let them breath!”
